Ancient Peoples
Our Past in Peril
On the 5 continents, cultural exception and biodiversity are subjected to the law of the Market,
of consumerism, which are the main characteristics of the century to come. The speeding up
of globalisation is irreversibly changing mankind.
To transmit or to disappear – there is the crucialchoice in the history of any civilisation: integrate
the new contingencies, or disappear into extreme isolation.
In the past, one could speak of the natural course of events, of the law of the living. Today, man has become his own predator. From colonial history to the global Market, the conflict between tradition and modernity leads to tragic consequences. This collection of documentaries depicts a struggle
for life, in the early years of the new millennium.
- One may ask a central question: As it loses its memory, can a whole people disappear,
just like any other animal or vegetal species?
As the guardians of traditions that are still active, native peoples
preserve Man's History. Their knowledge perpetuates a strong
link with our origins.
- How do they live?
- Which threats hang over them?
- To which extent is their culture necessary?
- How do they cope with globalisation?
